ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021 in Shakarparian.
Under the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project and the first-ever Miyawaki Forest by planting a sapling in Islamabad, the prime minister, on the occasion asserted that we are bringing change in Pakistan by altering both the land and the thinking.
PM Imran Khan was accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed the Adviser on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam and Senator Faisal Javed Khan. He also paid tribute to Malik Amin Aslam and State Minister for Climate Change, Zartaj Gul.
He further said that the inauguration of Miyawaki Forest would be replicated at 20 other sites in Islamabad. Highlighting the climate change in the world, PM Khan stressed that Pakistan is among the 10 countries in the world that are most at risk.

Earlier this week, the prime minister had announced the development of 50 urban forests in Lahore based on the Miyawaki method as part of efforts to restore biodiversity and fight the climate crisis.
He took to Twitter and shared the news we have started Japanese-style urban forestry and the trees grow ten times faster under the Japanese method. PM Imran Khan had said that urban forestry is the best way to deal with pollution.
According to the Japanese method, trees are 30 times denser, and urban forestry is the best way to deal with pollution, he said. The prime minister said that 50 sites have been selected in Lahore for urban forestry and the first experiment was conducted last year at Liberty Chowk, Lahore.
