ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the new army chief will be appointed in November, not in April.
During a meeting with senior journalists, the Prime Minister said that political instability was being spread in Pakistan under a well-conceived conspiracy. The no-confidence motion is a legal and political issue. Changing allegiances is by no means acceptable.
The Prime Minister further said that he has good relations with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The new army chief is due to be appointed in November.
Imran Khan further said that nothing can be finalized on the no-confidence motion, the government is in touch with the coalition parties. All addresses will be open on voting day.

He said that the number game would continue till the last over. We are ready for the consequences of the no-confidence motion.
It should be noted that the tenure of Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa was extended for 3 years in August 2019. Announcing the extension of the tenure of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was signed by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
