LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived in Lahore today (Friday) to review preparations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of the local bodies elections in the province.
The premier will be briefed on political, administrative issues of Punjab and preparations for the upcoming local body elections in the province, several media outlets reported while citing sources.
In addition to this, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, the Punjab inspector-general of police, chief secretary and provincial ministers will call on the PM during separate events.
Moreover, the heads of Punjab’s medical education institutes will also pay a visit to PM Khan and inform him about the challenges and issues they face. All the premier’s engagements and meetings scheduled for the visit will take place at Governor House.
Earlier this month, the prime minister inaugurated special technology zone (STZ) Lahore Technopolis, established under the Lahore Knowledge Park Company.
According to state-run Radio Pakistan, the technology zone has been constructed under Lahore Knowledge Park Company, where huge investment is being made to enhance export potential in technology.
Special Technology Zones being developed all across the country would be home to Science & Technology Parks, manufacturing units, research and development centers of global tech companies and software houses. It will also feature, universities, incubators, accelerators and other ecosystem players.
The prime minister also distributed licenses among the companies which would be operating in the Technopolis. The event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for an investment of $300 million for the establishment of another three technology zones in different parts of the country.
