ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has lauded the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in raising a record Rs 410 billion during July.
The prime minister took to Twitter and praised the FBR’s performance in collecting record revenue in July. In his Twitter message, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that so far Rs 410 billion has been collected, which is the largest amount historically collected in July.
The prime minister said that the FBR collected 22 percent more revenue than the target for this month. These receipts are a reflection of the government’s policies towards sustainable economic recovery and economic growth, he added.

Earlier, the FBR had introduced a new mechanized system of tax collection to increase tax revenue across the country and bring retailers into the tax net. According to a statement issued by the FBR 15 days ago, a mechanized system was introduced to facilitate the process of tax collection from vendors, shopping malls, and department stores, which was decided to start at the end of this month.
Earlier, PM Imran Khan had paid rich tributes to the FBR for collecting Rs 4,732 billion in tax revenue. Earlier this month, the prime minister took to Twitter and wrote the FBR had collected Rs 4,732 billion in tax revenue in the last financial year 21-2020, which is a significant achievement.
