ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to visit Malaysia in the upcoming month February in what will be his second trip to the country since assuming office.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed the news of Imran Khan traveling to Malaysia in a briefing of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Foreign Office.
The prime minister was scheduled to attend the Kuala Lumpur summit last month but for some reason, he had to skip it. Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohamad invited Imran Khan in November 2019 to attend the KL Summit 2019.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blamed Saudia Arabia for Pakistan’s absence in the Kuala Lumpur Summit.
Erdogan alleged that Pakistan refrained itself from the Kuala Lumpur summit because of Saudi Arabia’s threats of economic sanctions.
