ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan called on President Dr. Arif Alvi today (Monday) at Aiwan-e-Saddar in Islamabad.
According to details, both the personalities discussed matter pertaining to the current situation of coronavirus pandemic, other domestic and international matters.
In this regard, President Alvi appreciated the steps taken by the federal government in order to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.
President Alvi also praised the global initiative of PM Imran regarding debt relief for the developing countries amid the ongoing coronavirus situation.
On the occasion, he said that the government should ensure all possible measures to provide relief to the deserving people through Ehsaas programme, utility stores, and other necessary initiatives.
PM Imran thanked President Arif Alvi and lauded his efforts to evolve a consensus among the Ulema regarding prayers and Taraweeh in mosques during the holy month of Ramazan.
Later, Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt. General Faiz Hammed also joined the meeting. The meeting strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces along Line of Control (LoC).
The meeting also highlighted the violations of human rights in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK). The meeting further discussed the recently agreed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with Ulema and its implementation.
