ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to PM on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a national strategy to tackle the challenge of the coronavirus.
Firdous Ashiq Awan in a statement that the prime minister had has always thought of the people. “The package shows his feeling for the people of this country,” she said.
She said that the prime minister took important initiative keeping in view all the sections of the society. “It is a very good package keeping in view the economic facts and issues facing the nation,” she added.
A sum of 200 billion has been earmarked for the working class and 150 billion for the poorest of the society through the package, said Awan by adding that the export refunds of Rs 100 billion to exporters would also help exporters.
Awan further said that 100 billion rupees would help to increase the production capacity for small industries and agriculture while the goal of Rs 50 billion for utility stores would be to ensure the supply of cheap and quality goods to the people.
The Assistant Special said that 100 billion have been earmarked for the lockdown situation and 280 billion for the official purchase of wheat while Rs 15 has been reduced on petroleum products.
According to Awan, all these steps make it clear that Imran Khan’s government has always thought for the people while the welfare and well-being of the country.
