ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has felicitated the Christian community in Pakistan as is celebrates the festive occasion of Easter on Sunday (today).
“Wishing all our Christian citizens a happy Easter,” said the prime minister on Twitter in his greetings to the Christian community.
This year Easter related religious services will be held in the Churches across the country although authorities and the church administrations have warned and advised all churchgoers to strictly observe the COVID-19 related SOPs.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri have extended warm felicitations to the Christian members of parliament and the Christian community on the auspicious occasion of Easter.
In a statement, the Speaker said that Jesus Christ was ordained by Almighty Allah to preach love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood. He inculcated spiritual values among his followers to work for the divine pleasure and his eternal message of love for humanity and for members of all communities and fraternities still holds strength to ensure harmony and peace in today’s world.
Speaker Asad Qaiser said that in the day of turbulence in the country, we should forge unity to counter the nefarious designs of the enemies.
He reiterated that the rights and privileges enjoyed by all minorities in Pakistan will be fully safeguarded by the government according to the Constitution and guiding principles of the Quaid-e-Azam.
He asked the government and opposition minority parliamentarians to forget their political differences and play their role in effective legislation for minorities.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri while extending greetings on his fellow Christian colleagues on the auspicious occasion of Easter, said that Islam gives equal rights to the minorities.
He said that Constitution of Pakistan grants minorities equal participation in all walks of life. He urged the Christian community to serve all their energies in progress and prosperity of the country. Both urged the Christian community to follow COVID SOPs while celebrating the festival.
