ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the authorities to consider suggestions for reducing the prices of wheat.
During the meeting held in Islamabad today, the prime minister directed the concerned authorities to review the prices of essential food items.
During the meeting, it was discussed that the wheat targets would be doubled to meet the demand for wheat. In this regard, the Sugar Advisory Board would determine the cost of sugar through a third-party evaluation.
Imran Khan also directed officials to take strict action against those who were involved in the smuggling of onion, wheat, and other essential commodities.
He further ordered reducing the price of ghee sighting reduction in the international market.
The prime minister earlier today spoke at the international conference titled “40 years of Afghan Refugees Presence in Pakistan: A New Partnership for Solidarity” in Islamabad.
While speaking to the conference, the prime minister said that he believed that Afghani people suffered more than any other human community. “I plead from my heart that these peace talks are successful,” he added.
The prime minister said that Pakistan was on the same page with regard to Afghanistan.
While talking about the conference, Imran Khan also shared that today’s convention was a celebration because there were not many cases that those who have been refugees have conducted themselves with honour.
