ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda has made the shocking claim that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s life is in danger and a plot been hatched to assassinate him.
Speaking to a private news channel, Faisal Vawda said that there was a foreign conspiracy to assassinate Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said the prime minister was advised to use a bulletproof shield while addressing recent public gatherings. “The prime minister said he will leave this world at the time ordained by Almighty Allah,” he said.
“There is a serious threat to Imran Khan sahab’s life. I don’t know whether you were read that part about the consequences. That is life-threatening,” he said. “There has been a mention of assassinating Imran Khan sahab,” Vawda added.
Vawda said there was threat to the prime minister’s life but refused to answer whether the purported conspiracy to assassinate the premier was mentioned in the letter. When insisted that he clarified whether it was mentioned in the letter, Vawda replied, “It is connected to this letter. This is not the only letter.”
“Imran Khan is brave man. He will not take dollars. He will not allow the use of bases and will not allow anyone to act as they will,” Vawda asserted. “He will not put the country at stake and will not let the nation bow down before anyone”.
He was the prime minister was told multiple times that a bullet-proof glass was needed to be installed during the March 27 rally. “I am saying what I know. We are concerned and worried about our leader. A conspiracy is being hatched to assassinate Imran Khan.”
Vawda said that threats to Imran Khan’s life existed even before his election as the prime minister. “We used to stand before him as human shields (at public rallies),” he said. He further said: “We had asked the prime minister to share this (the threats against his life) as well but he is brave and does not want to present it as his weakness.”
He said the PM Imran Khan has a clear foreign policy of the country and Pakistan will not become part of anyone’s war. He said airbases will not be given to foreign powers to attack neighbouring countries. He regretted that Pakistan’s foreign policy was changed on the orders of foreign masters in the past.
