KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee on Thursday maintained its gaining streak for the third successive session against the US dollar, appreciating 0.09% in the interbank.
At close, the currency settled at 286.73, an improvement of Rs0.25, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

On Wednesday, the rupee saw a marginal gain in the inter-bank market, appreciating 0.08% to settle at 286.98.
In a key development, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Managing Director International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva met Thursday on the sidelines of New Global Financing Pact Summit here and exchanged views on the ongoing programme and cooperation between Pakistan and the IMF.
The prime minister outlined the steps taken by the government for economic growth and stability. He underscored that all prior actions for 9th review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) had been completed and the Government of Pakistan was fully committed to fulfilling its obligations as agreed with the IMF.
