NEW DELHI: A cheetah helicopter of Indian Army crashed in Nyamjang Chu near BTK area of Jemeithang, Arunachal Pradesh state, injuring both the pilots who were evacuated to nearest Military Hospital. One of the pilot later succumbed to Injuries.
According to Indian military sources, the chopper was on a routine duty and was coming from Surwa Samba area after dropping the General Officer Commanding of the 5th Infantry Division when it met the accident.
“With regret we inform that one of the pilots Lt Col Saurabh Yadav, who was critically injured succumbed to the injuries during treatment The second pilot is under medical treatment. The cause of the crash at this stage is not known. Details are being ascertained,” reads a statement issued by the concerned authorities.
