KARACHI: On request of the Canadian government, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) will operate two special flights on April 2.
In this regard, Canadian High Commission in Islamabad wrote a letter to PIA, requesting two special flights in order to bring its 620 citizens trapped in the country due to suspension of international flights.
According to the letter, the Canadian High Commission will provide a list of passengers, who would travel in special flights and PIA authorities would issue the tickets as per list.
PIA spokesperson informed that the special flights will be operated from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and Jinnah International Airport Karachi, adding that only passengers from the two cities would be accommodated in the flights.
The spokesperson further informed that the planes would leave for Canada from these airports at 7:00 am on April 02 and would return empty.
It is worth mentioning here that on March 26 the federal government withdrew the special permission to PIA to operate to these territories in view of the recent spike in the number of coronavirus cases in the United Kingdom and North America.
