Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has temporarily suspended its flight operation to Turkey due to a low passenger volume during the lean season.
It is anticipated that the ban would last until October 13.
According to a PIA spokesman, the decision was taken due to a lack of travelers for onward journeys to Turkey. “We have not been receiving inventory from Turkey; therefore, the flights were stopped until October 13,” he explained.
PIA suspended its operations because of non-payment concerns pertaining to inventory and airport slots. Normally, PIA runs four weekly flights from Islamabad and Lahore to Turkey. As a result, during this time there won’t be any flights to Turkey.
For PIA, which has been attempting to continue regular operations despite persistent financial difficulties, this stoppage impacts a crucial international route. It is recommended that travelers who had reservations for flights to Turkey keep up to date with any changes and rescheduling possibilities.
Meanwhile, PIA halted all flights using Iranian airspace after Iran’s missile attacks on Israel, as per official orders. According to an airline representative, flights are being postponed, and Iran’s airspace won’t be used until things have calmed down.
PIA uses two air corridors through Iran: the Southern Corridor is used for flights to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Doha, and the Northern Corridor is used for flights to Canada and Turkey.
