Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a significant reduction in fares tailored for Pakistani pilgrims, resident visa holders, and workers journeying to Saudi Arabia.
A spokesperson from PIA disclosed that the airline is implementing fare reductions of up to 30% specifically aimed at pilgrims and visa holders. These reduced fares will be applicable for travelers destined for Jeddah and Madinah.
Effective from April 7, 2024, to April 11, 2024, the discounted fares offer an economical travel option for those embarking on their pilgrimage journey. PIA, the national flag carrier, has notably reduced economy class fares by up to 50,000. As an example, passengers departing from Lahore will now incur a cost of Rs103,680 for an economy seat, while those originating from southern regions like Karachi will pay Rs95,400.
The timing of this fare reduction aligns with the Holy month of Ramadan, presenting a welcome opportunity for individuals intending to undertake their sacred pilgrimage during this auspicious period.
In parallel news, PIA has recently announced its strategic restructuring plan, which involves transferring all its debts and losses to a holding company. This restructuring has rendered PIA an attractive investment prospect for prominent players within the aviation sector.
