LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi has formed a seven-member parliamentary team to discuss the chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

The move of the parliamentary team came after Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar accepted the resignation of Pakistan Muslim League-N Shehbaz Sharif from the post of chairman of PAC.

In Shehbaz Sharif’s resignation, which he submitted on 18th November, nominated party MNA from Sheikhupura Rana Tanvir Hussain as his replacement.

Shehbaz wrote, “I would like to propose that MNA Rana Tanvir may be considered for this position as decided by the joint opposition parties.”

On the other hand, the parliamentary team will review the demands of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders for their return to standing committees.
