The aerial firing and use of firecrackers on marriage ceremonies are going on unabated despite Supreme Court orders and the ban imposed by the police high-ups.
Following the Supreme Court’s instructions, the government had imposed a ban on the use of fireworks and aerial firing in the marriage ceremonies but the people were flouting the orders with impunity.
It has been observed that firing in jubilation on festivities like marriages in the rural areas has become a routine and there is no one to check the practice.
The wedding ceremonies which last till midnight coupled with heavy aerial firing and explosions of firecrackers have virtually made the lives of the citizens, particularly the elderly people and patients, miserable.
Though the court and the district government issued strict orders for action against those involved in aerial firing, the practice is going on unchecked.
