ISLAMABAD: The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has warned that banned militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is planning terrorist activities across Peshawar and Quetta in near future.
According to a statement issued today (Thursday), the banned militant outfit is planning a terrorist activity on the high-profile religious and political leadership of the country in bomb attacks and suicide bombings.
The counter-terrorism watchdog has alerted the relevant Law Enforcing Agencies that the recent evidence collected from Qamar Din Karen in its raid on October 21 found the explosives and devices planned to be used in the said possible attacks.
During the operation, almost eight explosive devices were recovered. In this regard, the NACTA said that the recovered material was to be used for attacks in Quetta and Peshawar.
The authority has recommended strict security measures in Quetta and Peshawar to avoid any untoward incident. It has also notified the chief secretaries of all the provinces, including those of Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
