KARACHI: PD Orangi Muhammad Rizwan Khan has filed a suit against former caretaker PD Orangi Sharq Ilyas seeking Rs 5 crore damages for occupying the PD’s room and publishing news based on baseless allegations.
Sharq Ilyas, who was illegally appointed as the caretaker director of Project Orangi Town, reappointed Permanent Project Director Orangi Town Muhammad Rizwan Khan to the same post through court orders and notification of the Chief Secretary.
In this regard, PD Orangi Rizwan Khan while talking to MM News TV said that he is repentant for the campaign against him. Media campaigns are run by people convicted by the NAB. “I am a law student,” he said.
The project directors who were appointed were illegal, their order was as caretaker PD. Permission was not granted until joining. In its turnover, it raised over 140 million different entities and increased recovery.
Rizwan Khan said that he would like to mention the services rendered in his previous post that in my turnover 140 million different institutions were levied and his recovery had begun, which is now stalled.
Mohammad Rizwan Khan said that one billion acres of land were forcibly removed for not leasing it illegally. “I have been protecting government lands as a national duty. The same land mafia had opened a front against me and a media campaign is still being launched against me,” he added.
“I present myself for accountability. I will give a detailed position soon,” Rizwan Khan said by adding that Chief Secretary Sindh has issued this fourth-order of my appointment during my tenure.
“A defamation suit of Rs 50 million has been filed in the court. I have also given legal notice to the blackmailer and I will go to the last extent. I am loyal to the institution and the country that is why they are trying to get me out of the way,” he asserted.
