The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally requested — and received approval from — the Punjab government for the provision of two bulletproof vehicles to ensure the security of players and officials during the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL X) 2025.
According to sources, the provincial authorities have agreed to provide the necessary armored vehicles in time for the start of the tournament, which kicks off on April 11 in Rawalpindi. The opening match will see defending champions Islamabad United face off against Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The move is part of enhanced security protocols being implemented ahead of the highly anticipated tournament, which draws domestic and international attention each year.
In parallel with the PCB’s preparations, a comprehensive traffic management plan has been rolled out in Rawalpindi. It includes temporary road closures during team movements and the designation of alternative routes to ease public inconvenience and maintain smooth traffic flow.
The PCB’s request for bulletproof vehicles reflects its continued commitment to player safety, recognizing the high-profile nature of PSL X and the international participation it brings. As excitement builds nationwide, the Board is taking every step to ensure that the tournament proceeds without disruption.
