KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday sacked former pacers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee following the national team’s early exit from the T20 World Cup.
“The PCB today confirmed that it has notified Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz that their services will no longer be required in the national selection committee setup,” PCB said in a statement released on its official website.
Wahab and Razzaq were both on PCB’s seven-person men’s squad selection committee, and the latter was also on the women’s team selection committee.
The cricket board stated that more information regarding the makeup of the selection committee will be released when available.
Pakistan was eliminated from the competition, which was co-hosted by the United States and the West Indies, following two close losses: one to the amateur USA team and another to arch rival India.
