Karachiites will no longer have to pay parking fee on major roads as the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has officially abolished parking fees on 46 roads under its administration, effective today, July 1, 2025.
Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced the abolition of parking fees on roads managed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), as part of a broader initiative to eliminate charged parking across the city.
The KMC has declared that it is now in a financially stable position and no longer relies on the revenue generated from parking fees to sustain its operations.
However, this policy applies only to KMC-controlled areas. Other municipal entities, including district municipal corporations and cantonment boards, may continue to impose parking charges within their respective jurisdictions.
The KMC has issued a warning against unauthorized individuals or groups collecting parking fees on roads where the charges have officially been abolished. Any such activity will be treated as illegal, and appropriate action will be taken.
