Arshad Khan, famously known as the “chai wala” after his photo went viral in Pakistan, continues to expand his business as he opens another branch of Café Chaiwala Arshad Khan in South London.
The new café is backed by two brothers, Asif Khaliq and Yousuf Khaliq, who are originally from Karachi and run multiple businesses in the area, including food shops and snooker clubs.
Arshad Khan rose to fame in 2016 when an image of him serving tea at a roadside stall captured national and international attention. His viral fame initially led to modeling opportunities and, eventually, the launch of his own tea brand—an endeavor that has now culminated in a multi-million-rupee success story.

Following the success of his first café in West London, the South London branch has now become a reality with significant investment from the Khaliq brothers. “We have invested over £250,000 in this Pakistani chai brand not just for profit but to promote Pakistani culture and heritage,” they said. “Café Chaiwala Arshad Khan perfectly represents that vision. Since becoming an internet sensation, he is recognized globally and serves as a brand ambassador for Pakistan.”
The new café is strategically located in Tooting, an area known for its thriving Asian community. “There was a strong demand for an authentic chai and street food outlet, and we believe this café will fulfill that need,” the Khaliq brothers added.
With his growing business empire, Arshad Khan’s journey from a humble tea vendor to a successful entrepreneur continues to inspire many.
