Islamabad: The import of mobile phones has experienced a substantial upswing, reaching a notable volume of $470 million in the initial four months of the current financial year. Media reports highlight a remarkable surge of 107.91% in mobile phone imports from July to October.
Data released indicates a significant boost compared to the same period last year, with mobile phones worth $226.51 million being ordered during that timeframe. The report underscores a noteworthy 75.60% increase in the imports of the telecommunications sector in the fourth month of the financial year. Consequently, the import volume of the telecom sector rose to $66.865 million, compared to $345.6 million in the corresponding period last year.
Furthermore, the import of mobile accessories witnessed a 14.50% increase from July to October, reaching a total of $136.873 million. The robust growth in both mobile phones and accessories imports underscores a dynamic trend in Pakistan’s telecommunications market during this financial year.
