ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Thursday that Pakistan has low inflation compared to other countries.
This he said while presiding over a Core Committee meeting of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). During the meeting, the committee was given detailed briefing on Afghanistan situation.
The meeting was informed that Pakistan is trying to bring together the international community for peace and stability in Afghanistan, while the international community must come forward to meet the humanitarian needs in Afghanistan.
The meeting was also apprised about giving the right to vote to overseas and i-voting.
PM Imran Khan said that overseas Pakistanis must be given the right to vote at all costs.
The prime minister said that has lower inflation than other countries, adding that Pakistan was also providing incentives and subsidies along with reduction in food prices.
Earlier, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin had said that the depreciation of the rupee could lead to higher inflation.
According to the details, on the fourth day of this week, the value of the dollar increased by 12 paise in the interbank market. The Forex Dealers Association had said that the dollar has risen to Rs 166.52 in the interbank market.
In the last four months, the dollar has appreciated by Rs13.69 paise. Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, referring to the rise in the value of the dollar against the rupee, said that the fall in the value of the rupee could lead to inflation.
