ANKARA: The 51-member Urban Search and Rescue Team, which is part of the International Response, has begun its operations in the earthquake stricken areas of Turkey.

A spokesperson for the team told media that it had set up its operation sector office in Adıyaman under the command of Rizwan Naseer.

The spokesperson said the team members were not only specialized in search and rescue operations but were also certified by the United Nations.
It may be added here that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also decided to establish the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to support the earthquake victims of fraternal country Turkiye in this hour of difficulty.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a special plane carrying humanitarian assistance and rescue team of Pakistan army had already left for Turkey on Tuesday.
