Pakistan made roaring business of Rs1,000 billion through various transactions in a year through Google, said the search giant’s Country Director Farhan Qureshi.
In an exclusive conversation the Google official said the customers reaped a benefit of Rs210 billion in a year.
Google is creating 410,000 employment opportunities annually, Qureshi said, adding there are 350 content creators in Pakistan with a million subscribers.
He further said 50% of the viewership comes from outside Pakistan. He also said 1,600 game studios have been developed in five years.
Qureshi also said that there were 5,400 YouTube channels with a subscriber base of 100,000.
The content creators of Pakistan are known worldwide for their creativity and setting new trends. There are almost 350 content creators with more than 10 lac subscribers and above 50% international viewership. We have seen how some amazing and creative content has crossed borders, he added.
Farhan Qureshi also stated that YouTube and gaming have now grabbed the attention of content creators. A 100% gain in gaming studio has been observed with more than 1600 gaming studios developed. YouTube has also become a highly crowded place with more than 5 thousand YouTube channels having millions of subscribers.
