RAWALPINDI: A soldier of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom as Indian troops committed an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Satwal Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian troops initiated ceasefire violation in the Khuiratta sector along LOC. During an intense exchange of fire, a valiant soldier Sepoy Fazal Elahi, age 35 years embraced shahadat, ISPR said.
The ISPR stated that the Pakistan army responded effectively to the firing, causing substantial damage to Indian troops in men and material.
Indian Army troops resorted to unprovoked fire in Kotkotera Sector deliberately targeting the civilian population. Due to an indiscriminate fire of automatics in Phalni Bazar, a 34-year-old male suffered critical injuries.
Pakistan’s army responded effectively and targeted those Indian posts which initiated fire. In Hotspring Sector, Pakistan army troops shot down an Indian Army Quadcopter, said ISPR. Indian Quad Copter had come 100 meters inside its own territory. The unprovoked act was responded to befittingly wherein own troops shot down the quad-copter.
Earlier this month, Indian troops had opened fire in the Chirikot Sector of the LoC and deliberately targeted a United Nations vehicle with two military observers. The UN officers were en route to interact with the victims of ceasefire violation in Polas village in the Chirikot sector.
The UN vehicles were clearly recognizable even from long distances due to their distinct make and type and clearly visible markings. While the vehicle was damaged, the two UNMOs luckily remained unharmed. They were safely rescued and evacuated by Pakistan Army to Rawalakot, the ISPR added.
It is worth mentioning here that Indian forces have continuously violated the ceasefire agreement at the Line of Control and martyred Pakistan Army personnel and civilians during their unprovoked firing at the border.
