ISLAMABAD: The rupee continues to depreciate with the value of the US dollar exceeding Rs 182.
According to details, the rupee depreciated further against the dollar in the interbank market today, the first day of the business week. The dollar rose to more than Rs 182 from the start of trading.
During the trading hours, the dollar rose by 52 paise to Rs 182.30. It is to be noted that even before this the dollar had hit the highest level in history, gold became even more expensive and out of reach of the poor man while the rupee depreciated further. On the second day of the business week, the price of gold rose by Rs. 300 per tola across the country, bringing the new price to Rs. 131,000.
The All Pakistan Jewelers Association said that the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs 257 to Rs 112,311. Gold prices fell last month. 1 tola of 24 Karat Gold was worth 124,200.
