NEW YORK: Two separate lists of the world’s strongest and weakest passports have been released, in which Pakistan has been named the fourth country with the weakest passport.
According to the World News Agency, in the 2023 list of the Henley Index, the world’s most powerful passport was declared to be Japan, which can travel to 193 countries without a visa.
In this list, the passports of Singapore and South Korea jointly occupy the second place, with their passports allowing visa-free travel to 192 countries, while the third place is Germany and Spain, the passport holders of these countries can travel to 191 countries.
Similarly, the number of United Kingdom is sixth and the number of America is seventh, while the number of India is 85, on whose passport one can travel to 59 countries without a visa.
Afghanistan’s passport is the weakest passport in the Henley Index with the last rank of 109, while the Pakistani passport is ranked 106 and the only three countries below Pakistan are Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan respectively. The second list, released by Artan Capital, has the UAE at number one, with a passport that allows visa-free travel to 181 countries.
On second place jointly are the passports of Switzerland, South Korea, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands and Austria, whose passports can travel to 174 countries without a visa. On third place is Denmark, There are passports from Belgium, Portugal, Norway, Poland, Ireland, the United Kingdom, USA and New Zealand, whose holders can travel to 173 countries without a visa.
It should be noted that in both lists, Pakistan was declared as the fourth country with the weakest passport. In Arton Capital’s list, the Pakistani passport is joint 92nd with Yemen and Somalia, below it are Iraq 93rd, Syria 94th and Afghanistan 95th. are present.
