Fatima Sana, Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team’s fast bowler, has been contracted by Barbados Royals for West Indies’ upcoming franchise-based tournaments.
She will feature in the inaugural edition of the 6IXTY; later, the bowler will showcase her talent in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).
Sana will don a Barbados Royals jersey in the 6IXTY tournament, whereas she will also represent the same team in the WCPL 2022. She has represented Pakistan in 25 ODIs and 15 T20Is and was also a part of the national team in the Commonwealth Games 2022.
The West Indies Cricket Board confirmed her participation for the Royals in the 6IXTY and WCPL, where she will play under the captaincy of Hayley Matthews. The newly-launched format featuring men’s and women’s teams will get under play from August 24th to 28th and will be followed by WCPL from August 31st to September 4th.
Fatima is excited to get an opportunity and said it would not only help her improve but also help Team Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that she is the only Pakistani woman cricketer to be selected in the West Indies’ franchise-based tournaments’ squads.
Fatima has taken 36 wickets in 25 WODI and 12 in 15 WT20I.
