ISLAMABAD: Pakistani nationals returning from overseas in the federal capital are facing difficulties due to a lack of accommodation facilities.
Sources claimed that so far the administration hasn’t provided returnees – arrived yesterday – with any sort of accommodation, nor provision of food and essential items.
Sources revealed that renowned actor Shamoon Abbasi and his team were among the other passengers that returned from abroad yesterday.
According to a passenger, the administration immediately provided Shamoon Abbasi and his team with hotel accommodation, while others are still waiting on the roads.
Another returned Pakistani national informed that the Islamabad administration is demanding money for accommodation and food, adding that the federal police are treating the returnees badly.
Sources revealed that the Islamabad administration has left the returnees outside a private hotel located in Sector G6. Women and children are also among the returned Pakistani nationals.
Earlier on April 17, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Hamza Shafqat had informed that millions of rupees have been spent by the government on transportation, lodging and provision of food to Pakistanis who returned since the outbreak of the coronavirus and are being kept at quarantine centres in the capital
