KARACHI: A Pakistani man has married a Mexican woman whom he befriended on social media in a wedding ceremony held in Pakistan.
A woman named Sonia Elizabeth flew from Mexico to Karachi to marry Muhammad Amir from who she met online and later both fell in love with each other. She not only married her love interest but also embraced Islam and changed her name from Sonia to Zainab.
Moreover, a 23-year-old man who is a painter by profession had married a 65-year-old woman from the Czech Republic in Gujranwala. Abdullah who belonged to Warpal Chatha in Gujranwala saw a Czech woman named Arena on Facebook and sent her a message along with a friend request.

Both started talking on a call, the Czech woman had been trying for a visa for a year. However, her visa kept on being rejected. Abdullah too applied for Czech Republic’s visa, but he was rejected as well. So, after countless phone calls to the Pakistani embassy in her country, Abdullah was finally able to meet Arena. The couple recently got married and Arena has accepted Islam.
However, the couple has planned to move to the Czech Republic together and Abdullah will continue his profession there. His wife is a well-educated woman who is also a retired teacher. She even helped her husband learn the English language. Moreover, she learned a bit of Urdu and Punjabi herself.
