A Hindu husband and wife who had moved from Pakistan to India were murdered in Mumbai, raising concerns that the incident could further strain the already tense relations between the two countries.
According to details, the couple was brutally killed. The father of the deceased woman stated that his daughter, Sapna, and son-in-law, Sanjay, had moved to India in search of a better future. However, only a few months after their move, they were killed.
The woman’s father stated that Mumbai Police informed him over the phone that the bodies of his daughter and son-in-law were found in their home and that they had been stabbed to death. The couple’s two sons are currently in police custody.
Sanjay’s father said that his son’s dry fruit business in Mumbai was doing quite well. Indian police are giving various reasons behind the murder.
According to Ishwarlal, head of the Hindu Panchayat, there is concern that the Indian government may delay delivering justice. He urged for the bodies to be brought back to Pakistan so that the final rites could be performed there.
It is worth noting that relations between Pakistan and India had already become extremely tense at the beginning of May when India, using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext, launched an attack on Pakistan, which was met with a strong response from the Pakistan Army.
In retaliation to India’s so-called Operation Sindoor, Pakistan Army’s Operation Banyan Mursas resulted in significant losses for the Indian military. Pakistan silenced the enemy’s artillery and gave India a tough lesson.
