In a bizarre turn of events, Pakistani 12-year-old children are set to the the knot soon as they have gotten engaged.
A 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy got engaged recently raising questions about Pakistan’s marriage policy which is 18.
The marriage plans have been set up by their parents. They are marrying the couple off as the boy gives an ultimatum that he will continue his studies only if he gets to marry that girl.
The couple’s Baat Pakki event was held and their mothers also talked to the media. The girl’s mother said that she was married at the age of 16 so, she does not mind if her daughter gets hitched at the age of 12.
On the other hand, the groom’s mother was married at the age of 25 but she wants to get her son married soon. The groom has already planned many kids and he will be gifting his wife an iPhone 15.
