Sindh’s Energy Minister, Nasir Hussain Shah, stated that it is the leadership’s clear decision: if India proceeds with building a dam, Pakistan will strike it.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that a unified message was sent from the National Assembly—that when it comes to national interests, the entire nation stands united. He reiterated that while Pakistan is a peaceful nation and does not seek conflict, any aggression from India will be met with a firm response.
“The enemy is merely issuing hollow threats,” he remarked. “Pakistanis are a peace-loving people, but if war is forced upon us, we know how to defend ourselves.”
The minister affirmed that the entire nation stands in solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces in safeguarding the country.
He criticized India’s consistent failure to condemn acts of terrorism in Pakistan and pointed out that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had raised the issue of canal construction from the very beginning.
Nasir Hussain Shah also revealed that the Chief Minister of Sindh had previously written a letter concerning the canal issue, expressing hope that such projects would not go forward. “We had made it clear that if such developments occur, we will not support the federal government,” he added.
