KARACHI: Pakistan has topped the list of new coronavirus cases in the world, according to data compiled by the reference website Worldometer.
According to the latest chart posted by the Worldometer, Pakistan is placed on the top of the chart of new cases reported across the world during the past 24 hours.
As per details, Pakistan has reported the highest COVID-19 cases in a single day. More than 4,800 cases of coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours.
Following Pakistan, the highest number of COVID-19 cases were recorded in Mexico which has seen the number sharply overcoming the United States in the number of cases per day as the pandemic threatens to worsen across the world.
Mexico has reported 3912 cases in the world after Pakistan. Whereas third on the list, Bolivia has reported a number of 647 cases in the past 24 hours. Brazil and Kazakhstan have reported 582 and 271 cases in the past 24 hours.
The coronavirus death toll in Brazil and Mexico soared to a new daily record, with 1,349 and 1,092 confirmed fatalities, even as the country begins to ease lockdown restrictions. Brazil now has more than 32,000 deaths, while Mexico has over 11,000.
Moreover, the United States remains by far the worst affected country from the coronavirus and now has almost a third of the world’s 4.26m cases, with a national death toll of 82,339.
Around 6.5 million coronavirus cases have been confirmed around the world, while more than 386,000 people have died. More than 2.7 million have recovered from the disease.
