Pakistan on Tuesday successfully conducted a training launch of the Ghauri Weapon System aimed at testing the operational and technical readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command.
According to an ISPR statement released in Rawalpindi, the launch was witnessed by the Commander of Army Strategic Force Command (ASFC), senior officers from the strategic forces, scientists and engineers of the strategic organization.
The Commander ASFC appreciated the standard of training and operational preparedness of the Army Strategic Forces, which was reflected by the proficient handling of weapon systems in the field and the achievement of operational and technical objectives. He also appreciated the scientists and engineers for their contributions towards the enhancement of Pakistan’s strategic capability.
The President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and Services Chiefs congratulated the participating troops, scientists, and engineers on the successful conduct of the training launch.
The training launch of the Ghauri Weapon System came about six days after Pakistan had conducted a successful test flight of the Ababeel Weapon System on October 18.
The Ababeel test flight was aimed at revalidating various designs, technical parameters, and performance evaluation of different sub-systems of the weapon system.
The ISPR then said, “The missile system was aimed at strengthening deterrence and enhancing strategic stability in the region through the operationalization of Full Spectrum Deterrence in the overall construct of Credible Minimum Deterrence.”
