Amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, the Pakistan Army shot down an Indian spy drone in the Barnala sector for violating Pakistani airspace.
According to security sources, the drone was likely on a surveillance mission and was immediately targeted and destroyed by Pakistani forces. Officials stated that this action is being considered a clear warning against Indian aggression, emphasizing that Pakistan is fully prepared at all levels to protect its airspace.
Prior to this incident, Pakistani security sources had claimed that two Indian Air Force fighter jets — one Rafale and one allegedly SU-30 – were targeted in the Bhatinda and Akhnoor areas of India. These actions took place in the context of the deteriorating situation between the two nuclear-armed countries.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar confirmed a strong response to Indian aggression. He stated that Pakistan shot down two Indian fighter jets through swift and effective action. Atta Tarar further said that Pakistan had no connection with the Pulwama attack. “We are actively fighting terrorism, and the Indian accusations are baseless,” he added.
