Pakistan has decided to raise India’s recent aggressive actions and the deteriorating regional security situation at the United Nations, diplomatic sources confirmed.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has instructed Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN to immediately initiate steps to convene a special session of the UN Security Council.
The move aims to formally brief the global body on the escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
The decision comes in response to what Islamabad describes as provocative behavior by New Delhi in the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident. Pakistani officials believe the international community must be alerted to the growing risks to regional peace and stability.
Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach to the UN reflects its broader strategy to internationalize the issue and seek global intervention to prevent further escalation.
The government has reiterated its commitment to a peaceful resolution and emphasized the need for immediate global attention to de-escalate tensions.
