ISLAMABAD: A total of 5,472 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country while eight more people have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to data released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,338,993 people were infected with coronavirus across the country while 29,037 people lost their lives to the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 57,669 tests were carried out to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 24,297,430. Across the country, the virus test result was 9.49 percent while 908 patients are in intensive care.
In the last 24 hours, coronavirus has been defeated by 628 people across the country, bringing the total number of healthy people to 1,265,239.
The highest number of coronavirus cases were reported in Sindh while deaths were reported in Punjab. In Punjab, 455,499 people fell victim to the virus while 13,091 died. In Sindh, 59,308 cases of coronavirus and 7,709 deaths were reported.
In different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 182,619 people fell victim to coronavirus while 5,965 died. In Balochistan, 33,744 cases of the virus were reported while 367 people lost their lives.
In Azad Kashmir, 34,811 people were infected with coronavirus and 749 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 10,455 cases and 187 deaths were reported. In Islamabad, 112,557 people were infected with coronavirus and 969 died.
