ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 70 more people in Pakistan, bringing the total number of deaths to 9,080.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 2,545 new cases were reported in the country and the total number has risen to 448,522. In Pakistan, 396,591 coronavirus patients have recovered and 42,851 are undergoing treatment.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus is in Punjab where 3,491 people have lost their lives while 3,237 in Sindh, 1,502 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 381 in Islamabad, 99 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 176 in Balochistan and 194 people have lost their lives in Azad Kashmir.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 35,441, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 53,609, in Sindh 1,99,706, in Punjab 1,29,291, in Balochistan 17,838, in Azad Kashmir 7,833 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4 A total of 804 people have been infected with coronavirus.

Nationwide, the rate of positive cases of coronavirus rose to 7.12 percent. Karachi coronavirus’s positive case rate is 19.89 percent. According to the NCOC, the rate of positive cases in Hyderabad was 22.45 percent. It has risen to 9.4 percent in Azad Kashmir, 14.2 percent in Balochistan, 0.5 percent in Gilgit-Baltistan, 4.3 percent in Islamabad, 7.2 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 14.9 percent in Sindh.
According to the NCOC, the rate of positive cases in Punjab is 3.8. The rate of positive cases in Lahore was 5.47 percent and in Rawalpindi, it was 7.71 percent. The rate of positive cases in Peshawar was 19.04, in Quetta 5.06, and in Mirpur 22 percent.
