ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continued to report a significant drop in coronavirus cases on Monday, while 38 people lost their lives.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 3,338 cases and 38 deaths in the previous 24-hour period. The national tally of coronavirus cases has reached 1,463,111 while the death toll stands at 29,516.
The positivity ratio was has dropped to 7.45% while the number of active cases has also reduced to 89,192. There were 44,779 tests were conducted in the previous day leading to new cases.
There are 1,684 people who still remain in critical condition including three new patients in the previous day. Overall 1,344,403 people have recovered from the virus, including 4,905 in the past day.
Sindh has recorded the highest number of cases and remains the worst affected region. The province has recorded 552,262 cases and 7,905 deaths while there are 43,904 active cases.

Punjab has recorded 489,655 cases and 13,252 deaths, while the number of active cases in the province has reached 16,153. Islamabad has recorded 131,628 cases and 988 deaths while there are 11,893 active cases in the federal capital.
The number of cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands at 203,110 and 6,053 deaths, while Balochistan has reported 34,819 cases and 368 deaths. Gilgit Baltistan had recorded 10,896 cases and 189 deaths while Azad Kashmir has recorded 40,741 cases and 761 deaths.
NCOC chief Asad Umar shared that Pakistan has been setting the highest daily vaccination records for three consecutive days. “Highest daily vaccination records set three days in a row,” tweeted Umar.
Umar shared that the nationwide mobile vaccination campaign, designed by the NCOC and being “implemented with the help of provinces is producing outstanding results”. “Target is to reach all citizens to allow us to finally end all COVID-19 related restrictions,” he added.
