ISLAMABAD: Pakistan witnesses a continuous decline in coronavirus cases as the country reported five death on Monday, the lowest daily death toll since January 20.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 856 cases and 5 deaths in the previous 24-hour period. The national tally of coronavirus cases has reached 1,509,360 while the death toll has reached 30,178.
The positivity ratio was has dropped to 2.56% while the number of active cases has also reduced to 35,898. There were 33,357 tests were conducted in the previous day leading to new cases. There are 1,052 people who still remain in critical condition. Overall 1,443,284 people have recovered from the virus, including 1,756 in the past day.
Sindh has recorded the highest number of cases and remains the worst affected region. The province has recorded 567,761 cases and 8,067 deaths while there are 22,676 active cases.
Punjab has recorded 501,370 cases and 13,498 deaths, while the number of active cases in the province has reached 4,728. Islamabad has recorded 134,336 cases and 1,013 deaths while there are 581 active cases in the federal capital.
The number of cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands at 216,119 and 6,248 deaths, while Balochistan has reported 35,326 cases and 375 deaths. Gilgit Baltistan had recorded 11,480 cases and 190 deaths while Azad Kashmir has recorded 42,968 cases and 787 deaths.
