ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has witnessed the lowest number of deaths in 74 days due to the coronavirus. 26 people have been killed and 1,615 new cases have been reported across the country.
According to the National Command and Control Center, the total number of deaths from coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 11,683 while the total number of affected people has reached 546,428.
In the country, 51,252 people have recovered from coronavirus and the number of patients undergoing treatment is 33,493. The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 41,418, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 67,214, in Sindh 247,249, in Punjab 157,796, in Balochistan 18,823, in Azad Kashmir 9,019 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4,909 people have been affected by the virus.

The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was in Punjab where 4,747 people lost their lives while 3,996 in Sindh, 1,906 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 475 in Islamabad, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 195 in Balochistan, and 262 in Azad Kashmir lost their lives.
During the second wave of coronavirus, the number of positive cases dropped significantly to 3.9 percent. The situation returned to pre-November 10 levels. According to the National Command and Operations Center, the rate of positive cases of coronavirus in Karachi is 10.68 percent.
The overall positive case rate in Islamabad is 1.18 percent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5.25 percent, Punjab 5.97 percent, and Sindh overall 10.23 percent. In Azad Kashmir, the positive cases of coronavirus are 5.97 percent, in Balochistan 3.52 percent, and in Gilgit-Baltistan 0.56 percent.
