LONDON: Pakistan’s passport has been ranked as the world’s fifth worst after as its nationals can access just 32 countries without requiring a visa in advance. Only three countries are rated worst than Pakistan which are Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
On the contrary, Japan offers world’s most powerful passport followed by Singapore and South Korea while Afghanistan’s passport sits at bottom.
According to 2023 passport rankings released by London-based travel Henley & Partners, Pakistani passport is amongst the five worst passports out of 109 countries.
Only 35 out of the 227 travel destinations considered in the list, allow Pakistani passport holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival entry, followed by Syria (25 destinations), Iraq (29 destinations), and Afghanistan (27 destinations).
India ranks far better and has been placed on 85, according to a newly-released quarterly report by the London-based firm.
