ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will observe “Black Day” to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).
Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will also observe Black Day to convey to the world that they have rejected India’s illegal occupation of their motherland.
The call for observance of the day to be marked by a shutdown in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other pro-freedom organizations.
On 27th October in 1947, Indian troops in total violation of the essence of the partition plan of the subcontinent and against the aspirations of Kashmiris invaded and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The suffering have been manifested after New Delhi suspended the special status of Jammu and Kahsmir by revoking Articles 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution on 5th August last year.
The APHC has appealed to the Kashmiris living across the globe to hold anti-India and pro-freedom rallies and protests to draw world’s attention towards the unresolved Kashmir dispute.
They said that since October 1947, tens of thousands of Indian troops continue to illegally occupy the territory and the suffering of the people living in the restive region continues.
The federal government has chalked out a comprehensive programme to observe the day in a befitting manner. All provincial governments have also planned different activities to mark the day.
Public gatherings, rallies, walks and protest demonstrations would be arranged at district and Tehsil level across the country including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, following the COVID SoPs. A photo exhibition will also be arranged to highlight human rights abuses.
