Pakistan defeated Maldives 3-0 to reach the semi-final of SAFF U16 Championship in Bhutan on Monday.
Subhan Karim’s first goal for the in-form Green Shirts put them ahead of the game in the 14th minute. The Maldives presented a wobbly image and had no goals at all. In the 39th minute, Pakistan’s Abdul Samad doubled the advantage.
Pakistan took a 3-0 lead in the game’s closing stages thanks to an own goal that the Maldives goalkeeper conceded.
On September 8, Pakistan will now compete against the Group A semifinalist.
Earlier, the Pakistan U16 football team beat the hosts Bhutan 2-1 in their opening match at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan on Saturday.
