The Sindh education department has decided to keep all educational institutes across the province closed from February 6 to 9 in the lead-up to the general elections, scheduled for February 8.
All private and public schools, colleges, and universities in Sindh will be closed from February 6 to February 9 for the general elections, the education department said.
The notification has been issued after the approval from Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar.
Earlier, the Sindh government had announced a public holiday on February 5 on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared February 8 a public holiday in the country to enable voters to exercise their right to vote conveniently in the General Election 2024.
The polls are set to take place on Thursday (February 8) across the country. The caretaker Punjab cabinet has already approved to keep educational institutions closed across the province during the election of 2024.
