Pakistan has dispatched 97 tons of humanitarian aid to support the war-affected population of Gaza, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) announced on Monday. The announcement comes as Israel moves to intensify its military offensive against Hamas, with plans to extend operations across the entire enclave.
According to the NDMA, this latest shipment marks Pakistan’s 16th aid consignment specifically for Gaza and the 27th overall sent to the broader Middle East region. The relief package was sent in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.
“The latest consignment includes approximately 85 tons of canned food, 10 tons of rice, and two tons of powdered milk,” the NDMA said in a statement. The aid was transported via a chartered flight from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi to Amman, Jordan, for onward delivery to the people of Palestine.
To date, Pakistan has sent a total of 1,615 tons of humanitarian aid exclusively for Gaza. In total, 2,142 tons of aid have been dispatched across the region, including 416 tons for Lebanon and 111 tons for Syria.
“The Government of Pakistan remains steadfast in its support for the people of Palestine and will continue to extend humanitarian assistance based on the evolving needs of those affected by the ongoing conflict,” the NDMA said.
